DRAFT REORGANIZATION ORDER COULD SPELL OPPORTUNITY FOR CONTRACTORS

The Trump Administration is preparing to issue a new Executive Order requiring all federal agencies to examine their current structures and to key in on ways to increase efficiency, lower operating costs and improve mission performance.  The EO may be issued any time now as the Senate recently confirmed former Congressmen Mick Mulvaney as the head of the Office of Management and Budget.  Contractors that specialize in business organizational restructuring, innovative management approaches, and have a history of working with federal customers on mission enhancement initiatives may see some real opportunities develop as a result of the EO.  According to a draft, agencies would be directed to reduce staff levels by 5 to 20%, examine duplicative functions, and analyze whether specific functions could be better performed at lower levels of government or by the private sector.  Look for the final EO this week and be prepared to engage your federal clients.
