DO YOU WANT TO SELL TO DOD USING YOUR GSA SCHEDULE? CONTACT THE DOD ACQUISITION REFORM PANEL

Most Schedule contractors probably aren’t paying attention to the Section 809 DOD Acquisition Reform Panel.  What does DOD acquisition have to do you with you?  Everything.  If DOD business via your GSA Schedule is an important part of your federal business, you MUST know what the panel is considering.  While final recommendations have yet to be made, there is reason enough to believe that the Panel may recommend that DOD stop using GSA Multiple Award Schedule contracts.  The general perception is that Schedule contracts don’t offer great pricing and take too long to modify so that the latest solutions can be purchased this way.  Further, the existence of competing indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts inside DOD might be enough to draw the conclusion that the agency wouldn’t miss a beat without access to Schedule contracts.  It is imperative that voices – of both industry and GSA – be heard on why the Schedules program is a good deal for DOD and industry, especially smaller firms and those not in the IT market segment.  Contact the panel via their website:  https://section809panel.org/ before Labor Day.
