IT’S TO YOUR ADVANTAGE TO HAVE CURRENT PRICING INFORMATION

We’ve written about GSA’s use of outdated Advantage info on which inaccurate pricing comparisons are being made.  What we left out, though, is that contractors have it in their power to fix this:  Update your GSA Advantage information today.  If you’re not sure when the last time was that your Schedule information was updated, or if your predecessor was the person responsible, it’s past time for a clean-up.  Failure to update Advantage may also mean that your firm has failed to request contractually available Economic Price Adjustments.  Failure to update prices keeps them lower than they should be and, as experienced companies know, GSA will not let you catch up all at once if you’ve neglected your contract pricing for years.  While there may have been scant reason to keep your firm’s Advantage posting current previously, now that GSA is using the data in an effort to claim that some prices are “too high”, it is in your definite best interest to take the time and update your posting.  Current prices AND a clear date on which they’re effective, help you, your customer, and GSA.  Not only can better comparisons be made, but you’ll have an effective tool to show that your prices are current, while those of a competitor may date to the Bush Administration.
